The midnight in Paris

Last weekend I had an excellent chance to become familiarize with one of the greatest movies of an American director Woody Allen. Well, shortly film is about married couple, who decided to spend their time together, and get away from the bustle of an American city. So they take flight to Paris. The main character, book writer Gil, fascinated by the magic of Paris city. And he believes, that here he will find the inspiration to finish his book. While he leisurely explores the uniqueness of the city, his wife is more interested in having fun with their family friends and visit touristic destinations. Once, after he got tired of partying, he decided to leave his friends and wife and have a walk around Paris. Wandering through the streets of Paris, he gets lost and here the journey begins…

Director Woody Allen, Rachel McAdams as Inez and Owen Wilson as Gil Pender

Well from my perspective I can only add one thing, movie of Woody Allen opened my eyes to seemingly simple things, that we usually forget. We often think that before almost everything was better: people, feelings, even some of us are sure that they were born at a wrong time and gives greater favor to the past. And then the era end, a new generation comes replacing the old ones. So, in the film Allen shows us, that every era has its own good sides, but the real one is only that in which we are living now. By excessively plunging ourselves into the past, we risk missing the present. Well every character is memorable. And thanks to Woody Allen, this old chap knows how to uncover the natures of his characters.
