I was watching this movie and that in one moment I realized that this is such a magnificent movie. Like you are visiting and walking around an Art Gallery. “The Danish Girl” is such an aesthetically beautiful film. Most of the frames are arranged in the way that it makes you to want to stop (pause) and look at every detail of the shot. And every of this freeze frames could become an art illustrations and be hanged in some art museum.

According to my age and life experience, perhaps, I am not able to feel all the spector emotions and sensation which are included in this film. But right at the beginning I understood that the film is not about Einar/Lily (Eddie Redmayne‘s character), and mostly about Gerda his wife, with sacrifice and her endless love for her husband. Gerda’s character contains so many contradictory, subtle and vivid emotions that only women are able to fully feel. For such we (men) are too primitive and rational.

Gerda and her story is the soul and heart of the picture. And without her the film would be just like general films, about how difficult it is to accept your own inner nature. At the end, I just wanted to add that, it is difficult to ignore that “The Danish Girl” is a very subtle, sensual and beautiful film, about the sacrifices people are willing to make for the sake of those whom they truly love.
